It does if you put options "I4B_SMP_WORKAROUND" in your kernel configuration file. It would be very interesting to find out if it runs even w/o this option on your machine. We don't have that much experience with SMPs. AFAIK there is only one SMP system running with i4b and this one needed the workaround. Your milage may differ ...
