Then again, NT needs it... :) It depends on what you're doing with it. We're building dual processor boxes because we're doing highly cpu intensive operations on them. And FWIW, freebsd's smp code is just fine. With two processors it's a good match for anything out there, although with more processors we start to lose ground on efficiency.
