This is why I put forward a motion to move pidentd out of security and into net / sysutils last year. The suggestion wasn't well received, but I still think it'd help. I'd also like for the DESCR file for the port to say: "This service offers remote users some identity to report back to the local admin when complaining about abuse / break-ins originating from the local host."
