I have searched the archives and read the FAQ, Handbook, and the Tutorial on the subject, and now I am more confused than before. I just got a new PC today, and after about 15 minutes of playing with Win98 I decided to install FreeBSD as the main OS. (My older machine runs FreeBSD exclusively). I still need Win98 for work-related stuff, so I need to keep a small portion of the HD dedicated to it. Here's what I am looking at: 1 4.3 GB HD 1 500 MB HD (optional) Win 98 is currently installed on the 4.3 in one big FAT32 partition. I would like to keep it intact, but resize its partition to 1 GB. (I really don't want to reinstall Windows 98 on this machine - the less I touch Microsoft, the happier I will be.) The rest of the 4.3 I would like to dedicate to FreeBSD. The 500 MB HD I would like to keep as a FAT16 hd for sharing data between FreeBSD and Win98. So here are my questions: 1) Can I safely resize the FAT32 partition without losing my current installation of Win98 using FIPS? 1a) Would Partition Magic be a better choice? 2) Do I need to worry about installing FreeBSD below the 1024th cylinder? 3) Is there anything else I should be aware of before I take the plunge? I am hoping that this will be a fairly painless procedure... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, M.
