We just had a few moments of excitement when several production servers became slow to respond and collisions escalated. Turns out someone was transferring a large file between two high end FreeBSD systems, and this saturated the 10-BaseT segment they share with several other hosts. Switching hub and/or fast ether are in the cards, but I wonder, is there a way - sysctl? bandwidth limits? - to keep this from happening in the mean time? Hal Snyder Vail Systems
