I just received a PR for munin-node, complaining about error messages related to the lack of a hdparm command on FreeBSD. The munin-plugin hddtemp_smartctl tries to find out if a disk is spun down by invoking hdparm -C $fulldev. The plugin will skip the invocation of smartctl on such disks. Since it is really a bad idea to spin up a disk to ask it for its temperature - with what can I replace that command on FreeBSD? Thanks for your help, Lupe Christoph -- | There is no substitute for bad design except worse design. | | /me |
