This seems to match up with ifconfig's aliases fairly well. However, I think that the model here might be better served by the routes: bridge_names="a b c" bridge_a="fxp1 rl0" bridge_b="dc1 fxp0" bridge_c="rl1 dc0" I'd stick to spaces only, to match the sysctl. I don't think that it goes too far. This doesn't really change the number of knobs that a normal user has to deal with, but does allow some of the more advanced functions to be more easily accessed.
