The controller card is the one provided by lucent for the Wavelan PCMCIA card. The card is set to address 0x3e0 as required by PAO. The installation found the controller and wavelan just fine. After the installation of FreeBSD completed, the reboot does not find the controller and in fact there is no device 'cpic0' in the /devices directory.
