Folks, I had the same problem with a Logitech KVM switch and MS mouse, and after MUCH searching, I found a fix. The details are here: http://michael.gargantuan.com/mouse.htm But the gist is that I had to set certain flags in my kernel config file and rebuild the kernel. Here is the pertinent config line from the kernel: device psm0 at atkbdc? irq 12 flags 0x100 I hope that this helps you all! =========== Michael Oliver -----Original Message----- From: Scott [mailto:scottro@nyc.rr.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 11:07 PM To: Erik Moe; hardware@FreeBSD.ORG; questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: KVM switch problems and FreeBSD At 20:59 2002/01/07 -0600, Erik Moe wrote: >Hello, > >I'm having trouble with a new Logitech optical mouse when it is >connected to a Belkin OmniView KVM switch. Recompilation with the 0x800 (or was it 500, I've forgotten already) seems to have limited success (judging from much searching the web). Some folks, however have had success doing that. In general, I've found that if I have the KVM focused on the BSD box from boot up through starting X, I've then been able to switch back and forth. (Not always, however) On the other hand, I do have moused disabled--I don't know if that's a factor or not. Ironically, when I first had the trouble, I thought it was due to a lowend KVM and was going to buy a Belkin, till websearching made me realize that it wouldn't help. However--at work, I use a Belkin Omnipro (at home, a cheap Dlink something) and again, if I boot into the box while the KVM is focused on it, and start X, I'm alright. I'm using an MS optical rather than a Logitech--however, changing from optical to a normal mouse also didn't help.
