Subject: How Can You Tell if Patch Was Installed?

Hello,
Just applied the tcp47.patch patch to my system and I anticipated output
to the uname -r command that would reflect "p3". Instead the results were
unchanged.

uname -r
4.9-RELEASE-p2

I applied the patch to the current GENERIC kernel, customized the kernel
slightly, then recompiled it.

How can I determine if the patch was successfully applied or not? Should I
have applied the patch to the GENERIC kernel, then recompiled it before
customizing it?

Thanks,
Bob
