Hi Folks,=20 I've been down a very frustrating road, trying to get an ADIC Scalar 100 = with=20 two SDLT 220 HVD drives working. Its connected to a DELL 2550 server, = via=20 two Apaptec 2944uw HVD cards. (1 card is connected to the robotic arm = and an=20 SDLT drive, and the other card is connected directly to the remaining = SDLT=20 card.)=20 I'm running Legato Networker 7.1 I'll try and run back ups, and they might work for a time, but then I = get SCSI error messages in /var/log/messages. Sometimes, this breaks = backups completely, sometimes, this just breaks one drive, and the other = works fine. I've enclosed a sample of those messages with the hope that = someone out there might know what it means, for I have no=20 idea. I've called ADAPTEC, and they say that Suse 9 is not a supported = OS for this card, so they couldn't help me. =20 Also, I've done the following things in the SCSI Card BIOS screen, via = the support I did get from adaptec:=20 -Set the "Sync Transfer Rate" to "Async" for the SCSI Id of the = "jukebox" only. =20 -Set "Initiate Wide Negotiation" to "No" -Set "Enable Disconnect" to "No" -Set "Send Start Unit Command" to "No" The thought was that by doing the above, it would slow down the messages = being sent to the drives, and therefore avoid any conflicts.=20 Yet, I still get the following messages. Does anyone know what this = means? Do=20 I need to change the BIOS settings for the drives, also? Or will the = jukebox=20 settings do? - Thanks, Todd ps.
