Sorry for bothering everyone. I understand that it is not the way to go when running a -current as a production system, but since I'd otherwise never would learn what's new and how FreeBSD evolves, I would like to stay with it for a while and better fix the problem rather than reverting to e.g. 4.1RELEASE. # ispppcontrol isp0 isp0: phase=network myauthproto=pap myauthname="kuku123" idle_time=0 lcp timeout: 3.000 s enable_vj: on # ifconfig isp0 isp0: flags=a051<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING,LINK1,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 123.456.7.8 --> 123.456.7.9 netmask 0xffffffff ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 # netstat -s -I isp0 Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkts Oerrs Coll isp0 1500 <Link#5> 00:00:00:00:00:00 54072 2 64063 0 0 isp0 1500 0/32 sdial47 54072 2 64063 0 0 It seems that all file transfers, be it fetch, ftp, scp, http seem dreadfully slow. About one tenth of the normal 7.5 KB/s rate I'm used with former i4bs and ISDN. -- Chris Christoph P. U.
