works for me in -stable:

pcm0: <Nvidia nForce2 AC97 controller> port 0xd400-0xd47f,0xd000-0xd0ff mem 
0xe
d080000-0xed080fff irq 5 at device 6.0 on pci0
pcm0: <Realtek ALC650 ac97 codec>


Maybe try compiling pcm in to the kernel instead of loading the module.
I have had that make a difference before.
