I guess you either already know | how to do | that, or know how to find out. If not, ask your boss :-) Chris is at Usenix, and out of touch atm. Prolly should have asked one of the Greg Squad before displaying my ignorance though. | | My understanding is that you can't get the Solaris behavior. Solaris does | something called volume management with regards to CDs and floppies. It's | sort of like automounting but not quite. But you can get most of the same | behavior using amd, the automounter. I love that volume management. Solaris has its hangups, but I love that volume management. | Now this is going to be very embarassing for you, but there's an | article on | this very topic at DaemonNews: | But I was plenty embarassed to begin with so no big deal ;) I mostly do store stuff at this point, haven't done more than glance through the latest ezine. Oh that's february. Hmm. New excuse! Parenthetically, Chris hired me because I have done some BSD and some Solaris and some Linux, and I agreed to work with him because ... a company that exists solely for BSD! SWEET! and now all I run is Windows because the stupid UPS shipping program is Windows only. He gets to run OS X and FreeBSD and whatever he's in the mood for, but I'm stuck on freakin' XP. What a world. Anyway, I kept trying variations on "mount cdrom" because there was the vaguest bit of "it was something like that I'm sure" rolling around in my head.... then I went and found the Annalise Anderson book, and it is "mount /cdrom" ... and two minutes later I got several replies with the right man pages, etc. I'm a moron, obviously. If any of y'all (y'nz or you'ns for some of you) have a problem with an order from http://www.bsdmall.com, now you know who probably screwed it up!
