The problem appears that openvpn-auth-ldap's class hierarchy inherits from Object, and the newer clang/gcc (4.7+) stuff in FreeBSD no longer provides "deprecated" material such as the +alloc methods on Object. Instead, some other framework like GNUStep that provides, for instance, NSObject, has to be used.
