Based on bug 207547 experience making different versions of the same library
co-exist isn't trivial. Beyond the basic issue of conflicting build/install
some consumers can load more than one version at the same time only to crash
later. Lacking time for review either way, should I back out ports r423216 =
in
order to facilitate exp-runs or other committers joining in to help?
