Hi, After reading through the mailing-list archives, reading the FAQ and handbook i am unable to get Realplayer5.0 for linux to work on my FreeBSD 2.2.7 system. The program starts up, appears to hang, and then i get a message "unable to open audio device". The permissions on /dev/audio0 are crw-rw-rw which i believe are correct. Also, when i just do a cat sound_file.au > /dev/audio the sound works fine. If i just try to play the welcome.ra file that comes with it, the video works, but no sound will play. Any ideas anyone ?
