Aye, that was it (local-host-names).  My bad for not fully reading through
the virtual hosting documentation on sendmail.org.

We use sendmail 8.11.6 at work (on RedHat) and it does not require this.
Are there options/FEATURE()s in the .cf/.mc that effect this?  Or is it a
new thing?
