When I unsubscribed some time ago, the list had turned into a dumping ground for technical questions by people who perceived themselves as newbies. Which is entirely contrary to the charter of the list. Also, these questions drew answers, many of which were factually lacking, which is exactly one of the reasons why questions should go to -questions.
