i agree with peter. first thing i do after a fresh OS install is ftp over binary from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/CVSup/binaries/ the next thing is do is: $ cp /usr/share/examples/cvsup/<some_file> . $ vi <some_file> $ ./cvsup -g -L 2 <some_file> so your change won't be the end of the day, but it will just extra step.
