For generic usage I assume. I personally have a NCR 53c815 SCSI controller. SCSI-2, cost about $125. Works great. The 825 and now the 875 supports WIDE if you need it. Adaptec 2940UW, pretty expensive but a very nice adapter. Don't get the A version!!
