here my experiences on -current with a T30: as long as the ultrabay
cd-rom device is not in the bay, i can suspend/resume all right.

with the ultrabay cd-rom drive inserted, the system crashes on resume.

these statements are equally true for hibernation and suspend.

i am also using the vty switch workaround, which can be automated, as
i stated here:
