Sure. It's free and probably worth about that, but: Since you are using RadeonTool, are you just turning off the LCD screen? Another big issue is setting the power states of PCI devices. While support for this has been in FreeBSD for a while (6.0?), the application of them on some platforms, usually desktops, results in lock-ups. As a result, parts are disabled by default. Most laptops have no problems implementing this capability and turning it on should improve things, as well. hw.pci.do_power_nodriver=[1|2|3] The larger the number, the more aggressive the power limitations.
