Because I do so much of my typing out of the office I had to choose a notebook based on the quality of its keyboard; The IBM came up a distinct winner; the bonus is that almost every OS I have has run on it (Micros**t, BeOS, Linux, Solaris 7, and FreeBSD 2.2.8) without a problem.
