            Bug ID: 219618
           Summary: PKG opencv2 but port opencv - which to upgrade?
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: amd64
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: darin@technotic.ca

Hello!

I have decided to get my feet wet by contributing to the ports then
documentation for FreeBSD, since I love this community SO much!

I wish to upgrade the current port opencv from the current 2.4.13.1 to 3.x=
 but
have come across a conflict between the port and pkg name:

root@seedbox:/usr/ports/graphics/opencv # pkg search opencv | egrep -v
"java|core|cvs|plug|py"
opencv2-2.4.13.1_6 Open Source Computer Vision library

root@seedbox:/usr/ports/graphics/opencv # find ../* -name opencv
../opencv
root@seedbox:/usr/ports/graphics/opencv # grep -r 2.4 .
./distinfo:SHA256 (opencv-opencv-2.4.13.1_GH0.tar.gz) =3D
0d5ce5e0973e3a745f927d1ee097aaf909aae59f787be6d27a03d639e2d96bd7
./distinfo:SIZE (opencv-opencv-2.4.13.1_GH0.tar.gz) =3D 91773677
./Makefile:PORTVERSION=3D 2.4.13.1
./files/patch-cmake__OpenCVFindLibsGUI.cmake:+++
./cmake/OpenCVFindLibsGUI.cmake        2013-12-10 09:22:40.000000000 -0500
./files/patch-cmake__OpenCVVersion.cmake:--- ./cmake/OpenCVVersion.cmake.or=
ig=20=20
2013-10-24 00:12:48.000000000 -0400

Should I upgrade the opencv port and request the pkg name be changed later =
on
to prevent conflicts or work on the opencv2 port in order to align with the
current pkg name?

Cheers,
