To be more precise kernel source was from yesterday.
After installworld the loader seems to be broken:
jumping to bootstrap code
Loading /boot/loader
Console: SRM firmware console
VMS PAL rev: 0x1000900010115
OSF PAL rev: 0x1000800020117
Switch to OSF PAL code succeeded.

FreeBSD/alpha SRM disk boot, Revision 1.1
(ticso@cicely9.cicely.de, Thu Sep 14 03:37:12 CEST 2000)
Memory: 262144 k

halted CPU 0

halt code = 2
kernel stack not valid halt
PC = 200000000
boot failure
