Hi!

official i4b or the version from HPS?

No idea (not good - i know). Since I didn't download and or compile any
isdn-specific stuff (apart from the kernel itself), it must be the
official one.

Anyway: Now I see exciting messages flashing up my screen:

I suppose, the card as such is working. It's probably (hopefully?) not
my box connected to 2312188199 - there are other devices hooked up to
the S0-Bus, e.g. a fax-server.

Next task: getting ppp with a provider working AND cost-control.

How Do I find out, if the box is currently 'online' (no GUI -
commandline only)?

Well, since the doc explicitely names >=3D5.0, I would assume that this
gotcha would be mentioned...

The doc should be updated and I know...I'm more then welcome to do so.
If I am able to tell apart apples an pears (i.e. i4bisppp, ispppcontrol,
/dev/i4b etc), I'll help in updating the doc.

>from the config(8) man page:
>This is the old version of the config utility."

Yea - I read that too. Only the isdn-documentation, I posses tells me to
use config (probably because at the time of writing it was state of the
art).

Since I'm pretty new to FreeBSD, I don't dare to leave the path
described by the doc. I'll get lost.

Cheers,
 Kai
