[-- Attachment #1 --] Greetings, I'm trying to install FreeBSD 4.0 on my computer which has a Compaq 2x dvd drive/20x cdrom. The bios supports booting from the cd-rom, but when it tries to boot from the cd I get this message: "boot from atapi cd-rom -failure" "No /boot/loader" At first I thought FreeBSD just didn't support the drive, but then when I made the boot floppies, and booted up that way, when it loaded the kernel, it did detect the drive. But it won't let me install from it. What gives? Thanks for you help, Spencer [-- Attachment #2 --] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Greetings,<BR><BR>I'm trying to install FreeBSD 4.0 on my computer which has a Compaq 2x dvd<BR>drive/20x cdrom.
