Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Hey all, I know this is a stupid question, but I am builing a new machine and basically all I am doing is transfering the users from the old to the new. The old machine is a 3.2R and the new one will be 4.0R. Can I copy the passwd file from my 3.2R machine to my new 4.0R machine and safely say all the passwords/logins will become active after a restart? I know I will have to copy the old mail and user directories, but is moving the accounts that easy?
