LPD is running and the printcap entry is on a FreeBSD-4.2-RELEASE box. I have 1 question and 1 problem. Question: Do I need to use a filter like apsfilter or magicfilter? This printer will only *ever* be printing Postscript files and seems to work okay, except for the problem below. Problem: When several jobs are queued (more than 3), the first few run off very quickly, almost as fast as the printer can feed the paper. But then the process pauses for about 30 seconds, then the printer spits out 2 or 3 more pages, then pauses again. During a test run of 10 jobs, lpq kept reporting a loss of connection to the printer. The Postscript files are very simple and the large ones are about 50K. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
