I recently had the same problem, and it turned out that momentaneously shutting down the daemon allowed me to unmount filesystems. See /usr/local/etc/rc.d/hald. Hope this helps. Note: the HAL daemon is used by desktop environments like Gnome or Xfce, so if you use on of them, it is likely you have HAL daemon running. --=20 Best wishes, Micha=EBl
