Basically, I can dial-up and get logged in and have the prompt = change from small ppp to big PPP, but when I try and ping the connected = machine It comes up with 100% unsuccessful. I then go to the = /var/log/ppp.log and check it out. Everything looks good and it say's = authentication accepted (using PAP) and it assigns me a IP address = (dynamic-changes from 0.0.0.0 to like 141.210.14.221) and so on. The = only thing that looks odd is when it says "Protocol (80fd) was rejected, = and then it shows: HDLC errors --> FCS:1 ADDR: 0 COMD: 0 PROTO:0 Do you have any idea what could be causing this? If so any info would = be greatly appreciated. How frustrating. Again I have spent mucho time = trying every possible configuration that I found on the internet and in = this book. =20 P.S. I would have tried configuring the pppd daemon except that it gives = me some shit saying: "This system lacks kernel support for PPP. To include PPP = support in the kernel, please follow the steps details in the README.bsd = file in the ppp-2.2 distribution". I have done a find / -name "ppp*" = -print and a find for README.bsd and can't find it anywhere. I checked = the installation CD too and couldn't find it there.
