One bad and the other is much worse. The bad one you can deal with by using the examples from sysctl and ata. Look at the format in the man page for the text you add to /etc/sysctl.conf. This morning I had a power outage and on one of the systems, I started getting the ICRC UDMA warning message. That system was also seeing < Jun 1 09:38:55 opal /kernel: ad0: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 0 retrying Jun 1 09:38:55 opal last message repeated 2 times Jun 1 09:38:55 opal /kernel: ad0: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 0ata0-master: WARNI NG: WAIT_READY active=ATA_ACTIVE_ATA Jun 1 09:38:55 opal /kernel: falling back to PIO mode Jun 1 09:38:55 opal /kernel: WARNING: / was not properly dismounted > This message went away after I booted in single user mode and fsck'ed the system manually. The "/kernel: WARNING: / was not properly dismounted" also went away.
