Thank you guys for responding. I tried to install gated_R3_5Alpha10.tgz by pkg_add. That does not work for me probably because I run 950412 snap and not current. Then I was able to install Alpha9 from ports-2.0. The installation was fine, with just a couple of warnings. I set routedflags to NO and gated to YES and added the line rip yes ; to my /etc/gated.conf file. I only have one NIC and do not use PPP or SLIP so perhaps I do not need packet forwarding. Now, the problem is the same. I can ping hosts on my subnet (i.e 198.80.26.2, 198.80.26.247 and 198.80.26.10). 198.80.26.2 is the gateway to Internet and 198.80.26.10 is DNS server. DNS seems to work okay: if I try nslookup ds2.internic.net, it works. However, I'm still unable to ping any outer hosts. I also can't send email to outside. Inside it works okay. I'm able to send mail from 198.80.26.247 to the outside world so the Internet connection seems to be allright also. Any suggestions? -Serge splyaski@cmp.com
