No, this is not true, I called Netscape a few weeks ago: Me: Hi, I work for one of the many ISP's in the world and we are exploring the option of getting a netsite commerce server, I just have a few questions. Netscape: uhh, ok. Me: The first is in relation to platform availability. You list the BSDi platform as one of the platforms which will accept netsite. I know from experience that FreeBSD will handle BSDi executables and the like, and I was wondering if you have heard of any experiences in relation to this. Netscape: uhh, we only support xxx-OS, and xxx-OS [list forgotten]. Me: Yes, I know, but I was wondering if you have heard of anybody who has tried to run it on FreeBSD, using the BSDi executables, as it should-- in theory--be relatively the same. Netscape: if it is not one of the operating systems we have listed, we do not support it. (sigh, eats pencil at this point) Me: YES, I know that, I will get back to you later [click]. I found out later that I could grab the 90 day trial and see how it works. It did work, except for I could not create a key (unknown as to why this was). I've since given up the project, as Apache has SSL and should be getting HTTPS soon. -Brandon Gillespie-
