A couple of questions please. 1.    I have an urgent need to have username greater than 8 characters. Any advice please. I am using FreeBSd 2.2.6, but am close to upgrading to 4.1.1 stable.
What do you need them for?
If it is e-mail, move to qmail http://www.qmail.org/ instead of sendmail...
Than you don't have to have your users in /etc/passwd either!
2.    With the upgrade I installed 4.0 from the Cd's then ran CVSUP for the 4.1.1 upgrade and all ports. I am unable to follow what to do nest, the base directory is /usr, however there is no files in /usr/src. Any help greatly appreciated Arthur
Read the UPDATING in /usr/src
You will hage to make world and build a kernel etc.

Don't worry, be Kneppie!
