You will have the opportunity to have a major impact on Apple's open source development process by: working with software teams both inside and outside of Apple to enhance and maintain a highly collaborative open source development environment (Mac OS Forge); evangelizing the needs of the open source community within Apple; and, facilitating the adoption of Apple-improvements with upstream project maintainers. Responsibilities: * Oversee day-to-day operations of Mac OS Forge * Participate in Apple's open source mailing lists * Develop web services for open source developers * Work with Apple teams to assist contributing local patches back upstream (i.e. FreeBSD, Apache, FSF, et al.) * Define and implement processes and tools to assist external developers in obtaining, building, and updating Mac OS X's open source software * Automation of open source operational processes Preferred Experience: * B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience * Involvement in open source technologies and development communities such as Darwin, FreeBSD, or Linux * Highly professional, with strong written and verbal communication * Previous experience administering web services (Apache, Subversion, Trac, Mailman) on Mac OS X, BSD, or Linux * Development with scripting languages (PHP, Python, Perl, or Ruby) Please apply on-line and send your resume to kfelch@apple.com.
