Once, Err, I think I misread... At first, I read it as the first 3-4 day.... I don't have any problem with gnome 2.7 for weeks. Maybe, you can try to remove the CPUTYPE from make.conf and rebuild your GNOME. I find it runs better and stable with XviD, gstreamer and others.
