If I reboot, I will load up the 4.8 side and see if it works there. Somehow, I think it will not. Probably just hardware differences. The old fan.c used to work back in the earlier 4.x series. I do not remember when it stopped working. I would like to have the ability to force the fan to run all the time. But it is not a big deal, my right leg is accustomed to cooking under this laptop after more than two years. But this Satellite is acting like it wants to die soon anyway.
