Regarding the 2940 and others...

When my system boots with my 2940, I can go into the
2940 menu system and low level format my scsi drives.

Is it bad to low level format my scsi drives ?
Basically, what would be the reason someone would want
to low-level format a scsi drive ?

Thanks,
Matthew
