i keep getting the following error message upon boot:
ad0: READ command timeout - resetting
ata0: resetting devices .. done
(repeat 2x)
ata0-master: WARNING: WAIT_REDY active=ATA_ACTIVE_ATA
ad0: trying fallback to PIO mode
ata0: resetting devices .. done
ad0: HARD READ ERROR blk# 7887680 status=59 error40

i run 4.0-current (just upgraded this week from 3.4-stable)
now this has only started within the last day whenever i boot.
i didnt get these errors while running 4.0 for 3 or 4 days.

whats this error mean and how can i rectify it?
and does it do damage or anything by setting the mode to dma (from
pio) after booting?
hardware specs:
p2-350 96 MB ram
PIIX ata controller
9.6 GB quantum bigfoot hd
