https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D215884 --- Comment #4 from Antonio Gandara <antonio@triforce.info> --- Tobias, I was not told on the FreeBSD forums or was made aware of that reality as = far as it could take ten months to hear back on the status of the port submissi= on. This was my first port submission to FreeBSD so I was learning many new thi= ngs at the time. At the time in January I had access to much spare equipment an= d I even had a FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE AMD64 server running in a data center. Right now in October I no longer have that as I even moved from my residence to a= new residence 2,000 miles away from the state of Illinois to the state of California. I still support FreeBSD and have my subscription to freebsdmall= .com for the DVD releases. In light of all these realities I think it would be b= est to close this submission since I no longer have this software as I had in January. Moving forward in the future if I do submit a new port if ever sin= ce this is my first port submission to FreeBSD I will be aware of these realit= ies.=20 Regards, Your fellow Berkeley Software Distribution enthusiast. Antonio Gandara=20 (In reply to Antonio Gandara from comment #2) > Is there a reason it took ten months to hear back on a status of > this submission as that seems awfully long to hear back on a port > submission. I agree with you it is an awfully long time, Antonio. I have been on the receiving side of this as well before getting a ports commit bit. You have to understand that we're a small team of volunteers who do ports work in our free time. We currently have approx. 2500 open ports bugs. That new ports sometimes take a long time to be noticed is an unfortunate reality of that. > what is it that you want me to do In light of the above I'd like you to lend me a hand and fix the problems I raised, so that I can commit it without much extra work on my part. Or if you're no longer interested or have moved on from FreeBSD then let's close this bug :-) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
