I was going to say this.  The first Alpha I played with FreeBSD
porting on (belonged to a Linux guy at the University of Arizona
in Tucson) was a 21064 based board that had the same limitation.

Is there any chance we can get the publically available SRM images
with flashing instructions onto the FreeBSD Alpha CDROM itself?
