      Senior Software
Engineer
Salary: Competitive - Direct hire
      Boston, MA - Leading telecommunications company is seeking a
Senior Software Engineer. In this
      position some of the responsibilities will include: 1. Writing new
device drivers for FreeBSD operating
      system for new and existing internet security application
platforms. 2. Porting a variation of the FreeBSD
      operating system to new internet security application platforms,
based on PCI architecture and Intel
      Pentium processor and WAN interface cards. 3. Designing,
implementing, and testing software, and
      participating in code reviews with other team members. 4. Assist
in building project schedules (work
      breakdown and estimates). The qualifications for this position are
as follows: Required: - Knowledge of
      UNIX or BSD Kernel and device drivers. - Self-starter with good
problem solving techniques - Good oral
      and written communication skills - Good problem solving techniques
Preferred: - Knowledge of
      networking interfaces, such as Ethernet and WAN interfaces. - BS
in Electrical Engineering, Computer
      Science, or related engineering or scientific discipline - Expert
knowledge of UNIX kernels (FreeBSD,
      NetBSD, OpenBSD, Linux, etc.)

      Boston, MA - Fast-growing telecommunications company is searching
for a Senior Software
      Development Engineer. The successful individual will define,
design, and implement internet security
      applications related to SMTP mail, HTTP, and other protocols along
with associated management
      interfaces, while also leading other engineers in similar duties.
This involves writing Linux applications
      and includes Linux systems programming. Long-term goals include
participating in product rollouts and
      bringing lessons learned to the rest of the R&D team. The
qualifications for this position are as follows: 1.
      Thorough understanding of the Linux operating system (or similar
UNIX-like OS) 2. 5+ years software
      development experience including design, implementation,
integration, and testing. 3. Thorough
      understanding of UNIX applications (Web server, SMTP, etc.), UNIX
development, and the UNIX
      administration environment. 4. BS / MS in Computer Science /
Computer Engineering or related
      engineering or scientific discipline 5. Knowledge of UNIX or BSD
Kernel and UNIX application
      development. 6. Knowledge of IP networking 7. Knowledge of Apache
