It worked as my gateway machine uninterruptedly for 230 days (until I decided to experiment with wireless cards and ran out of resources). Since then it has also worked without a problem. Perhaps your documentation is a bit off? Or maybe the data printed in dmesg was off? Let me know if I can get you any other info on this, or test any code. I have time on my hands at the moment.
