I have various 1.1.5.1 systems (IDE and SCSI) running stable but I remember
one system (an AMD 386/40+copro Cyrix, 8MB, IDE) that was causing me headaches
similar like errors you are reporting. Finally I swapped the IDE controller
(these cards are not that costly today but differ much in quality).
Your problem may be somewhere else, just an idea. Maybe you have a chance
to try a different controller.
