I submitted this PR for a port back in October:

but did not ever get any response. I then realized that someone else had
submitted the same port a couple of months prior to me:

This person did get a response, there was a problem with the checksum, but
the submitter never did follow up with a fix.
If there is anything that I could do to help with getting this program into
the ports tree more quickly, I would be glad to. I could either submit a
fix to the first one, or if someone would be willing to take a look at
mine, that one should work as well.
