OK, I did something not quiet right, I performed the upgrade within X. But now, the morning after, I noticed that the upgrade was killed due to 'Out of swap space'. OK, that can happen. BUT I restarted FreeBSD with and when the login prompt appears, suddenly I can login as root WITHOUT a password?!?!?!?!?! There is always a good explanation, ..."new passwd was not written yet...." It is not a big deal, 'cause it was a test machine, I thought you should now.
