There are still ssh and sshd from /src around and there is no reinstall like option in port's Makefile (like sendmail postfix pair), right ? As far as I understand 1) I have to turn sshd_enable="NO" as sshd will be fired now by the script /usr/local/etc/rc.d/sshd.sh anyway. 2) screen out /usr/bin/ssh,ssh-add... to give chance for /usr/local/bin/ssh* to be seen regularly.
