We copy /etc/resolv.conf to $CHROOTDIR/etc and I don't think it's
/etc/nsswitch.conf, because I don't even have that one in /etc...

I don't have any logs around anymore, but I seem to recall it had
more to do with permissions and/or time outs. If I have a spare
cycle and a couple of spare machine cycles I'll try to reproduce
it. It'll be interesting to see what truss/ktrace tells us...
